It requires careful consideration of factors affecting measurement accuracy, such as environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, pressure), instrument calibration and maintenance, and operator skill and training.

What is Metrology?

Legal Metrology

This branch pertains to the regulatory requirements of measurements and measuring instruments, aiming to ensure public safety, enable fair trade, and promote product quality. Legal metrology involves establishing legal measurement standards, controlling and certification processes for measuring instruments and enforcing measurement-related laws. It covers measurements that have significant implications for health, safety, environment, taxation, and fair trade, ensuring that measurements are trustworthy and that transactions based on measurements are equitable.
